A car carrying a driver and three passengers fell through the road when the ground caved in on Thursday (July 5) in China's central Hunan province, state media reported.
중국 중부 후난(湖南)성에서 5일 운전자와 동승자 등 총 4명을 태운 차량 한 대가 도로가 함몰되며 생긴 구덩이에 빠졌다고 중국 관영 CCTV가 보도했다.
The collapse, which happened in the early hours of the morning, created a six-metre wide hole in the middle of a main city street in the provincial capital of Changsha, state television CCTV said.
이른 아침에 일어난 도로 함몰로 인해 후난 성의 성도 창사(長沙)의 주요 도로 한복판에 지름 6m의 구덩이가 생겼다.
A man, who was trapped in the car, died at the scene after sustaining severe injuries, CCTV said.
차에 타고 있던 한 남성은 심각한 부상을 입고 현장에서 사망했다고 CCTV가 전했다.
The remaining three were successfully rescued from the five-metre deep pit. One of them, who was unable to climb the ladder due to his injured leg, was lifted out with a rope, CCTV reported.
나머지 3명은 깊이 5m의 구덩이에서 성공적으로 구조됐다. 이 중 1명은 다리 부상으로 인해 사다리를 타고 올라올 수 없어 로프를 이용해 구덩이 밖으로 구출됐다.
Police have cordoned off the site of the collapse, which is close to the banks of the Xiangjiang River running through Changsha, the official Xinhua news agency said.
경찰은 창사를 지나는 샹장 강의 둑 근처에 있는 도로 함몰 현장에 출입을 통제했다고 신화통신이 보도했다.
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation, state media said.
도로 함몰의 원인은 아직 조사 중이라고 CCTV는 전했다.
